Naples : Founded around the middle of the eighth century BC, it was among the hegemonic cities of Ancient Greece thanks to its relationship with Athens. Naples from the ninth century until today is considered one of the main centers of cultural reference in Europe for historical, artistic, political and environmental reasons. The historic center of Naples, the largest in Europe, was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site in 1995. The volcanic apparatus Somma - Vesuvius was elected in 1997 by the same international agency as one of the world's biosphere reserves. Naples is located almost in the center of the gulf dominated by the massive volcano Vesuvius. It enjoys a Mediterranean climate with mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers but refreshed by the sea breeze that is often felt on the gulf. The sun shines an average of 250 days a year. Naples is one of the cities with the greatest density of cultural resources and monuments in the world that testify to its historical and artistic evolution. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe. The richness of its historical buildings that characterize different periods gives the site a universal value unequal in the world. It is the result of an overlapping of architectural styles contained in about 2800 years of history. The legacy of this ancient history can still be admired throughout the city and its surroundings, which make the city of Naples, an open-air museum in effect. There are several hundred monumental buildings or churches of the city that testify to its artistic evolution. Among the most important and famous monuments are the Palazzo Reale, the Maschio Angioino, Castel dell ' Ovo, Piazza del Plebiscito, the church of Santa Chiara, the Reggia and the Capodimonte Museum, the National Archaeological Museum and a multitude of other sites that we are not able to list due to space limitations. A city such as Naples is worth an in-depth visit at least once in the life time.

Pompei: has origins as ancient as those of Rome in the fourth century BC. The intensive cultivation of land and the subsequent export of oil and wine brought wealth and a high standard of living for the population. Pompeii was hit on 5 February 62 AD by a strong earthquake that severely damaged it. Then in the summer of 79 AD (first year of the Emperor Titus) Pompeii was buried under more than 3 meters of ash and pumice which fell unbroken from the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Pompeii was declared in 1997 a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The ancient Roman city that had been submerged by the eruption was brought to light during the archaeological excavations. The sudden rain of ash, dust and pumice had crystallized the city and its tragedy preserving it over the centuries.
